The Peter Ustinov Schools
The first school in Germany was named after Peter Ustinov in 2002 and the seventh was founded in 2013. They include: the Peter Ustinov Realschule in Berlin-Charlottenburg, the Peter Ustinov Hauptschule in Hannover-Ricklingen, the Peter Ustinov Haupt- u. Realschule in Hude, the Städtische Realschule in Köln-Nippes, the Peter Ustinov-Gesamtschule in Monheim, the Peter Ustinov-Gemeinschaftsgrundschule in Essen-Katernberg and the Peter Ustinov-Gemeinschaftsschule in Eckernfoerde. They all embody the values of Sir Peter Ustinov and have enriched their curriculum with creative elective courses. The emphasis of their teaching is on "Open Mind" and raising the awareness of prejudice. Exhibitions and performances keep the topic present and clarify its urgency. Especially dedicated Ustinov schools also sponsor a children's aid project of their choice from the Ustinov World. By supporting their own personal project, the children are made aware of the importance of social responsibility at an early age.
