Waldorf School, Hawzien (Ethiopia)
Despite economic growth over the past decade, Ethiopia remains one of the poorest countries in the world with around 95 million inhabitants. Over 80% of the population lives from agriculture. The shortage of kindergartens, school places and vocational schools confronts the region of Hawzien with major challenges. The biggest problem in this context is the high youth unemployment. Goal of the project is to create a better future for all by offering sufficient education. Rooted in the land and its history, entrepreneurship, self-reliance, self-esteem, health and thus the quality of life of the people in Hawzien should be promoted.
